I dont guarantee any of these strategies, but these have served me well. They mostly vary the 'massed firepower' theme that goes with the Dark Angels. #1 Play the Averages. People dont like big vehicles. Yes, Lascannons are expensive, buy lots. My Predator Annhilator and Dreadnought draw alot of fire allowing me to keep one side of the board anchored with my command squad. My Troops hold the middle of the board. Until your vehicles are destroyed - shoot up the enemy as much as you can. Pay special attention to Dark/Bright lances(nothing bites more than armor 14 being treated as armor 12), Lascannon type things, Plasma weapon type things and Missile launchers (in that order). People will dump a disturbing amount of firepower at your vehicles. Dont let it go to waste. Fire at thier troops, move devestators into position to take out thier vehicles. Assault squads work miracles. #2 Dark Angels dont move for a reason. The theme of the Blood Angel army is (arguably) 'rip them apart'. The Ultramarines - 'we're really boring conformists, but we'll kill you anyway'. The Space Wolves - 'We may look human, but we sound like orks'. The Dark Angels - 'peace through superior firepower'. Always remember that. Buy lots of really scary weapons. Be defensive. If you dont have to capture anything try to get scouts to lure out the enemy. If you do have to capture something screen a squad of assault troops with a tatical squad. When you get close enough jump ahead and use the tac squad for cover fire. Always try to be defender. The Dark Angels excel at defense. #3 Dark Angels wargear. Always buy a grand master for your army and always give them the sword of secrets. I've cleaved through 'mo 'nators with my grand master. Grand Masters bring the pain. As a general rule you dont want to get your grand master in close assault if you have a lion helm (He's neat, but without an iron halo, gets pulped alot.) Master Crafted weapons are your friend. #4 Cypher is Annoying. Cypher will become the bane of your existence if you, like me, always take stubborn sergeants. Dont do it if you know your opponent will be fielding him.
